Joe Hardy was an American businessman and founder of 84 Lumber who grew it into one of the largest privately-held companies in the United States.
Hardy also founded Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. The resort boasts a hotel, art collection, and spa as well as fly-fishing and golf opportunities. Hardy handed over leadership of 84 Lumber and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort to his daughter in 1992. Donni Ringer described Hardy as a “real down-to-earth guy”. Hardy is survived by three stepsons, his second wife as well as his current wife.

The founder of 84 Lumber died on his 100th birthday, Saturday 7th January 2023. his death was announced to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 by the vice president of marketing for 84 Lumber, Amy Smiley.
The family has also issued a statement from reliable sources about the death of the American businessman. However, there hasn’t been any funeral arrangement as of now but from the family statement released, a public service will be held on Thursday 12th January 2023.

” Family and friends are invited to visit the Beinhauer Funeral Home in McMurray from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. On Thursday at 11 a.m. in Westminster Presbyterian Church, there will be a public service, followed by full military honors.
